Ghost Canyon

Preface: the recreation of the Golden Lotus

Since ancient times, intelligent men have existed, these men had powers no one else could even dream of possessing. We studied these wise men hoping to learn their secrets and powers, so that we too could become more than normal.

Once, I too, was an ordinary man, lost of spirit and lacking direction. I found myself guided by a stranger, towards the mysterious Golden Lotus. There I discovered many Immortals, dressed in unfamiliar garments. They took me in and restored my being. From that day on I was a faithful follower of their Good Faction.

Long, long ago, the Sun Warrior Clan was whole and devoted them selves to the study of the Tantra of the North. But also at this time the Dragon Lord threatened their way of life. In an attempt to stop him Master Mind, the leader of the Sun Warriors, used up all of his life force sealing the Dragon Lord up in the temple. From that point on the Sun Warriors moved their base to Wan Mountain and continued their studies. However, it did not go so smoothly! And the Sun Warriors divided into two separate houses; those who wished to study the texts and those who wished to fight! Master Dazang took his Disciples to the North to resume the study of the Tantra, but when trouble struck again the Sun Warriors were reformed. But, alas during the great battle between Good and Evil the Dragon Lord was revived and set out once more to spread evil throughout the land. The Sun Warriors trekked for miles to Desert City in order to discover the secrets held by the Oracle Rock and maybe also the secrets of restraining the Dragon Lord….

Xaotato told me that in the beginning, Zu Mountain was in great peril as the forces of Evil were stronger than those of Good and they would stop at nothing to bring chaos and unrest to the world. This spelled serious danger for the five Clans of the Good. The South Sea became surrounded by the Evil forces so the Moonmaidens fled to Desert City. Sky Lake became under threat so the Bead Fairies took refuge in Holy City. Whilst the Sun Warriors, in the North, were once again under the attack of the Dragon Lord. To make matters worse the Chief of Desert City, Lord Daluo, was not yet fully recovered from his wounds and so could not effectively lead the revolt. Whitebrow, the Chief of Holy City, had to leave his post in order to search for a successful way to deal with the vile Demons, who attacked his and everyone else’s homes. Everyone had been affected by the outbreak of Evil and the only chance to stop it is if they all worked together as one force for Good.

Since I also, was a member of the Secondary World it was my duty too, to protect the Training World with my life if necessary.

Jingjie, the Grand Master of the Moonmaiden Clan, had practiced her skills in the South Sea for many years. As a result her talents were renowned and she had brought many treasures back to Zin Palace for the honor of her Clan. However, recent events had brought turbulence and conflict to the Clan and they began to fight amongst themselves for the riches. The Zin twins, the Disciples of Jingjie, tried their hardest to resolve the tension. And, for a while it worked, the Moonmaiden Clan was reformed but not for long… Under the control of the Blood Demon, the Yuan-Ti attacked Zin Palace. Aware of the danger this would bring, the Zin twins ordered Wushan to lead the other Disciples to Desert City to take refuge. One good thing to come out of this disaster is that the Moonmaidens put aside their differences and plan to return to Zin Palace to fight side by side against the Blood Demon.

The Summoner Clan was founded by the High Summoner, himself. But because of their strange training methods the other Clans were apprehensive of them and as a result they all but died out. However, when Lord Daluo took charge of them they soon raised in strength and numbers, rapidly becoming the second largest Clan. The Blood Demon’s plans to destroy the world’s harmony affected the Summoner Clan too, so they joined forces with the other Clans to defeat him. But unbeknown to the others the Summoner's have their own secret agenda in this fight…

The High Summoner told me that in the beginning, Zu Mountain was in great peril as the forces of Evil were stronger than those of Good and they would stop at nothing to bring chaos and unrest to the world. This spelled serious danger for the five Clans of the Good. The South Sea became surrounded by the Evil forces so the Moonmaidens fled to Desert City. Chapter 1: Abhorrence

When I first arrived in the Windless Cloister of Ghost Canyon, I came across a Disciple of Jamon. He told me that he was in the process of developing a special poisonous medicine but that he required some broken bones of the Zombie Soldiers to perfect it. He asked me to collect them for him. There were many mindless Zombie Corpses roaming around so the task did not present too much hassle to complete. After easily collecting the bones I handed them to Jamon’s Disciple, but he discovered something strange about them. Even though they appeared to be in perfect condition upon investigation they proved to be too wet and hard, so that they were impossible to grind for the medicine. He concluded that something had created this abhorrence in the Zombie Soldiers, but the full effects of this anomaly were not yet known…

Chapter 2: Clues

In order to investigate this perplexing matter I flew to Wind Mountain to ask the Guard, Mengu, if he had noticed anything strange from his vantage point.

I discovered that a great number of secret Sword Soldiers had been seen around Wind Mountain. I went to fight them and find out why they were here. During the battle I was able to learn that they had been tipping their weapons with concentrated venom, one drop of which could easily fell an ordinary man. Luckily, my level was sufficiently high enough to protect me from the worst of it’s effects.

I went back to tell Mengu of their defeat but he still seemed worried. He told me that large numbers of the Evil Army had fled to the Evil Spirit Palace to escape my wrath. But we knew that they would not wait long before exacting their revenge…

I hurried to the Evil Spirit Palace to strike first. But, on getting there I felt like there was more going on than met the eye in Ghost Canyon.

Chapter 3: Tiger Talisman

It was just as I had anticipated.

Wuhe regarded me as a savior due to all of the Sword Generals I had defeated. They were much more powerful than the ordinary Sword Soldiers, so our skirmish was fierce and bloody. It took quite a while for the area surrounding the Evil Spirit Palace to be declared safe again. But once we were back in control, we scrutinized the remains of the fallen Evils. To our surprise we discovered that there was something amiss with their armor. The Leader of this foul bunch of fiends was a cruel being by the name of Jerrin. We decided that the best way to stop them completely would be to defeat their leader. So I went, at once, to the Evil Spirit Palace to confront him.

After a furious battle I finally overcame Jerrin and he fell at my feet. Upon seeing their beloved Master defeated, the Corpses began to break ranks and surrender. I sighed with relief for it seemed like the battle was over. There was something glinting on the ground next to Jerrin’s body. I bent down to pick it up it appeared to be half of a kind of talisman. I guessed Wuhe would know more about it and I was right. He was shocked and pleased at the same time; he told me that it was half of the Tiger Talisman, which symbolized the power of the military force on earth. Therefore it was of the highest importance that we get the other half too.

End: Seal

Only by retrieving the other half of the Talisman could we read the full inscription and learn it’s secrets.

I flew to the Blood Stone Highland to visit the Seal Master, Tude. He reported that many of the Sword Soldiers had originated from the Ghost Howl Den, so to put a stop to them this portal must be sealed.

I returned at once to the Ghost Howl Den to begin the task of sealing up the gateway.

But just as I was closing up the final hole, a putrid rotting Corpse hurled itself out of the Abyss at me. It’s blood curdling howl scraped at my eardrums making me feel instantly sick to my very core. There was no doubt this must be the leader of the Corpses, Koogoo. He was so powerful that it took all of my energy and concentration to dispatch him. He used white bone arrows that were wickedly fast and tipped with a poison so deadly that even dragons are scared of it! However, after several rounds I managed to discover his Achilles heel. Once I knew how to defeat him I attacked with renewed vigor and won. Upon inspecting his armor I discovered the other half of the Talisman. I took it at once to Wuio to translate.

The completed Talisman had dark green characters etched across it’s surface. After Wuio had finished translating it, he began to shout in excitement. For the script referred to no trivial matter but in fact detailed the Ghost’s plans for the attack of Desert City. It appeared that they intended to use the cover of darkness to wreak their worst on us. But the most important detail was that they meant to do it tonight! I needed to report this at once to the High Summoner.
